The price of sports analysis software

A red staircase rising one step at a time

· VectorPitch Team

For years, sports video analysis software has often been sold through opaque business pricing. Analysts can be asked to assess a tool without a clear public price or a straightforward account of what access will cost. That makes it harder to compare options, plan a budget and explain a purchase. VectorPitch takes a different view: performance analysts should be able to understand the price, what it includes and whether it fits their programme before they commit.

What analysts need to know about pricing

When prices and terms are difficult to compare, analysts have to spend time finding out what a product will actually cost. Clubs organise analysis in different ways and work with different budgets, so analysts need clear information about the billing period, how many staff can use the product, and whether limits or extra costs apply.

With those details, analysts can estimate the full cost, compare tools on fair terms and explain the purchase to the people who approve the budget.

How VectorPitch approaches pricing

We believe analysts should not have to negotiate just to understand the price of a core analysis tool. Advances in software have created an opportunity to make video analysis more affordable, and our aim is to keep high-quality tools within reach of more football programmes.

Clear pricing gives analysts a practical basis for deciding whether a product fits their work and budget. It also makes it easier to explain that decision to coaches and club leaders.

What the beta will help us learn

The Founding Analyst beta is free for its first cohort of football analysts. Long-term pricing has not yet been published.

Analysts will use VectorPitch with their own match and session videos. Their feedback will help us understand which tools fit day-to-day analysis and what pricing structures work for programmes with different budgets. We want the eventual model to reflect how teams use the software, with clear terms analysts can assess.

Making video analysis more affordable

We want high-quality video analysis to be within reach of football programmes with different budgets. Clear, accessible pricing is part of that goal: analysts should be able to understand the cost, make a case for the tools they need and know what their team will receive.
