1.1
This policy explains the cookies and similar local storage technologies we use on the VectorPitch marketing website, why we use them, and how you can control them.
1.2
This policy covers the marketing website only. It does not cover cookies used by the VectorPitch application itself, which are addressed separately in the Privacy Notice. The PostHog cookie described in clause 2.3 is set for vectorpitch.com and its subdomains, so it is also sent to the VectorPitch application; it is not read by the application.
2.1
We use PostHog for product and web analytics: understanding how visitors use the site, measuring which pages and features are used, and recording on-page interactions (such as clicks and scrolling) to improve the site. This includes session recordings of on-page interactions, with anything you type into form fields masked, together with capture of browser console logs and of network request timings (which requests the page made and how long they took).
2.2
PostHog stores a small amount of data in your browser (cookies and/or local storage) to recognise you across visits and group your activity into sessions. This data is pseudonymous — it does not identify you by name unless you separately give us your details, for example through the Founding Analyst application form.
2.3
Once you accept, PostHog sets the following, keyed to our project identifier:
ph_phc_nnoHWDqKr3F44C9ZboqGndohKjabYzWT7cGuyHtkvWMJ_posthog— a cookie (expires after 365 days) and a matching local-storage entry holding your pseudonymous visitor and session identifiers, enabled feature flags, and PostHog configuration.__ph_opt_in_out_phc_nnoHWDqKr3F44C9ZboqGndohKjabYzWT7cGuyHtkvWMJ— records your PostHog capture opt-in / opt-out state. It is written when you withdraw consent, so that PostHog stays switched off, and updated if you accept again later.
ph_phc_nnoHWDqKr3F44C9ZboqGndohKjabYzWT7cGuyHtkvWMJ_posthog: session-level properties PostHog attaches to events;ph_phc_nnoHWDqKr3F44C9ZboqGndohKjabYzWT7cGuyHtkvWMJ_session_registered_properties: the list of those session-level properties;ph_phc_nnoHWDqKr3F44C9ZboqGndohKjabYzWT7cGuyHtkvWMJ_primary_window_exists: used to tell a new or duplicated tab apart from the original, so that recordings from different tabs stay separate.
2.4
None of this analytics data is used for advertising, and it is not shared with ad networks or used for cross-site tracking.
3.1
Analytics only runs after you accept the cookie consent banner shown on your first visit. If you reject it, or leave it unanswered, no analytics cookies or local storage are set and no tracking events are sent. Anything you do before you choose is held in your browser's memory only and is discarded if you reject. If you withdraw consent after accepting, analytics stops, PostHog's identifiers are removed from your browser and your choice is recorded.
3.2
You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie Preferences" link in the site footer, which reopens the consent banner.
4.1
We also use strictly necessary local storage that is required for the site to function and does not require consent — specifically
analytics-consent, which remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics so we don't ask again on every visit.5.1
